Most photographers take pictures, I capture emotion, energy and the essence of the subjects and the story that the image will show.
I pride myself on my ability to make everyone comfortable and relaxed on a day that can lend itself to stress, anxiety and high emotions. My many years of experience have helped me learn and know how to resolve and handle every situation in a calming manner.

I started photography with my first camera in 1977. I devoted much time to the study of photography, art, composition and technical knowledge to round out my photographic skills. I started my wedding photography business in 1990. Having apprenticed for 3 years under one of the most respected wedding and event photographers in this area, I ventured into my own brand and style of event photography. I quickly rose to the top of the list of the most respected photographers in Ventura County. I have firmly established Curtis Photography as the one to hire for event photography. I have retained 100% customer loyalty. Once I have worked with a family, they continue to hire me for all their events and portraits.

Please repeat this statement to yourself again. I wish I had enough space to print testimonials of all the sad and disappointing stories of couples that used a friend, a relative or a cheap self proclaimed photographer for their once in a life time wedding. I’ve heard the following statement so many times that I’ve lost count. “Not hiring a Professional Wedding photographer was the biggest mistake and regret in planning my wedding.
